The black lacquered resin sculpture represents the face of a man depicted with his hand in front of his mouth and his forefinger raised, pressing his lips as a sign of silence. The sculpture is expressive and gives a sense of respect for the stillness and silence required by the depicted person. The outlines of the man's face are indefinite and wavy, the hollow of the eyes was not sculpted, but the area around the eyes and forehead was sculpted, as if resin had been poured over the person's face. The sculpture is completed by the hand placed close to the man's face as a sign of silence, which also acts as a support. The hand is placed on a white marble base.
The work recalls Surrealism, almost as if it were trying to transmit the message unconsciously, as in a dreamlike vision. The abstract and elusive outlines of the face perfectly represent the irrationality and dream that characterise the surrealist movement.
The artisan workmanship from which it originates adds further value to the creation: ADM Design's artisan techniques are carried out by hand by a team of artisans and in no way mass-produced pieces are made. Each sculpture is unique and enhances the creative value of the environments in which it is placed.
