Who knows what was written in the letters that this woman received and that are included in this painting depicting her ready for a wonderful ball. What stands out in this artwork is mostly the dress, very particular since it is wide and fluffy, so much so that it covers at least half of the painting. The background of this acrylic on canvas painting features a dark brown shade that fades into light grey. It is precisely from this brown colour that the highlights of the dress begins, made up of pale orange brush strokes that fade into yellow yet made much more lively by trowel strokes in bright red and orange, a couple of pinks splashes and a small stroke of violet where the bust of the young lady begins.
A delicate feminine figure can be found wearing the dress, almost ethereal, with very thin arms that end in a shaded hand, just sketched by a stroke of the brush. All around there is a frame of embossed details : words and numbers, crinkled paper embedded in the canvas, perhaps a postcard as we might understand from what looks like a stamp. This artwork was created by artist Edgar Ramirez.
