Acrylic on canvas painting by the artist Edgar Ramirez. This painting is on an gallery-grade canvas wrapped around the sides, so it is ready to hang. Its dimensions are 100 cm by 100 cm.
This is an abstract painting where the colours and the way they were applied to the canvas are much more important than the figure depicted on it. Following the abstract expressionist style, we can distinguish the brush strokes that the artist applied to the canvas, and we can also see their exact sequence. First of all, red and orange occupy the entire central part of the composition, the two colours fade into each other, the bright red fades into an increasingly lighter orange that disappears into hints of yellow.
The upper and lower parts of the canvas are characterised by broad brush strokes of white and grey that contrast sharply with the bright shades in the centre, making the painting perfectly suited to match furniture in light and more saturated colours. Finally, the intense colour brush strokes (light blue, white, magenta, and red again) applied with a trowel and a gold leaf pouring down from the top to the centre of the composition are beautiful.
