With a stern frown, this mighty orangutan seems to watch over the house to bring protection and good fortune warding off any negative presence. The voluminous thorax, squeezed between the front legs stretched forward, shows with anatomical accuracy all the power of the beast’s muscles. The orangutan clutches a cable between its teeth, from the end of which hangs the light bulb. The orangutan sculpture represents the supporting structure of a beautiful lamp design, one of the pieces in the Arte Dal Mondo collection that is a mix between home decor, lighting and design. The statue is in resin and it is created using a hand-crafted process that starts with a hand-molded clay prototype, continues with rubber molds into which the resin is cast, and ends with the hand-crafted finishing of the now-dry resin sculpture extracted from the molds. In the case of the orangutan sculpture, a metallic gold-effect finish was chosen. Once the sculpture is ready, a cable with a holder for E27 type lamps was applied. Like all of ADM Home Decoration's lamp statues, Orangutan fulfills the twofold function of creating a point of light in the room and decorating even when the lamp is off.
