A delicate female figure with only hinted features gracefully raises her arms towards the sky, crossing her hands, faithfully replicating the gesture of a woman intent on stretching her body at the awakening moment. Essential, graceful and evocative, this resin sculpture of minimalist inspiration surprises with its expressive force, clear and involving, despite its barely sketched shapes.
The sculpture almost seems to take shape randomly from a soft and voluptuous material : the legs with their full volumes, depicted in a crouched position and bent to one side, form the base of the composition; the figure's bust develops from the large pelvis, slender and light, continuing seamlessly in the small head without real features and in the long arms, so thin as to appear unrealistic.
This fine work, so simple and refined, is entirely handmade, using specially designed resin processing techniques and finishing treatments applied by expert hands.
The white colour and the lacquering of the sculpture surface give the figure an almost ethereal appearance. The play of reflections created by the incident light further enhances the shapes and creates the illusion of a living subject, almost in motion.
Awakening is provided with a certificate of craftsmanship, a document signed by Arte Dal Mondo certifying its handmade production and value.
